According to multiple media accounts, Los Angeles prosecutors will charge Dr. Conrad Murray, Michael Jackson’s personal physician, with involuntary manslaughter. If convicted, the doctor faces up to four years in prison. Dr. Murray allegedly gave the singer several doses of powerful painkillers and anesthetics just before his death.
The Los Angeles County coroner previously ruled Jackson’s death a homicide resulting from a combination of drugs, primarily propofol and lorazepam. The Houston-based cardiologist is currently in Los Angeles and could surrender to authorities there if charged this week.
