Dallas Snowfall Is Snowiest 24 Period In State History
Snow that fell on February 11th and February 12th in Dallas has made for the snowiest 24 hour period in the history of DFS weather records according to the National Weather Service
On February 11th Dallas witnessed 11.2 inches, with another 1.3 inches falling on the 12th (recorded only into the 12th portion of the 24 hour period.)
The one day record was not only set, but the 2009-2010 Winter season is also the second most snowy winter in the cities history lead only by the snow falls of 1977-1978 which are currently 1.9 inches ahead of this seasons snowfall, a record that could be broken with just one more snow fall to the area.
