Boise State No. 1 in BCS Standings?

There is one week left until the official BCS standings are released, and the consensus number one may be a surprise to a lot of people. ESPN.com is reporting that Boise State will be listed as the number one team in the BCS standings.

As of the now, the Boise State Broncos hold the number three spot in the AP, USA Today and Harris polls. Ohio State holds the number one rankings with Oregon coming in at number two. Boise State is projected to claim the top spot of the official BCS rankings when they are released.

Boise State is unbeaten and is the highest ranked team outside of a BCS conference. This will come as a disappointment for die-hard Buckeye fans, but this is really the only way the more-than-deserving Broncos can get a national championship bid.
