India’s Richest Man Builds World’s Most Expensive Home
If you have a fear of heights, you may not want to attend the upcoming housewarming party that Mukesh Ambani is throwing: his new $1 billion home in Mumbai, India, is a 27-story skyscraper.
According to Forbes, the 570-foot tower is the world’s most expensive home. For those who might be house hunting right now, here’s what $1 billion gets you:
Named after the mythical island Antilia, the new mansion reportedly features at least one swimming pool, a health club with gym and dance studio, ballroom, guestrooms and 50-seat cinema. Every room in the house is said to have a completely different look.
The Ambani’s will reside in the top four floors, just below the mansion’s three helipads. Nine elevators will be available to whisk the family and their guests through the mega- mansion. The first six levels have been set aside for parking. The massive garage can accommodate more than 160 cars.
The London Telegraph reports that a staff of 600 will help Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Industries, run the place, which offers spectacular views of the city and the Arabian Sea.
Ambani, 53, is said be worth about $29 billion, making him the world’s fourth wealthiest man in addition to the India’s richest.
