Jimmy McMillan

Jimmy McMillan has been on the fringe of New York politics for the past two decades. But last night McMillan, of the Rent is Too Damn High Party, made his mark on the national stage. McMillan was all anyone was talking about after the New York gubernatorial debate last night.

According to the Upshot, McMillan, who was sporting some fancy facial hair and black gloves during the debate, is no stranger to unconventional politics. He climbed the Brooklyn Bridge in 1993, he ran under the name “Prince Jimmy McMillan (a.k.a. Papa Smurf)” in 2005, and in 1994 he was kicked out of a state convention for heckling former Gov. Mario Cuomo.

Here are some of the highlights from Jimmy McMillan of the Rent is Too Damn High Party from last night’s NY debate.
