James MacArthur, Hawaii Five-O’s Original Dano, Dies at 72

James MacArthur, the actor who originally portrayed Detective Danny “Danno” Williams on Hawaii Five-O, has passed away. He was 72.

MacArthur worked on the small screen for more than four decades. According to E!, MacArthur had roles on Gunsmokes, and Swiss Family Robinson, but his most famous role was on Hawaii Five-O.

MacArther appeared was told to “book ‘em, Dano” on Hawaii Five-O from 1968-1980. He appeared in every season of the series, excluding the final season.

PeterLenkov, who directed the remake of the series for CBS, said in a tweet:

“Sad. We’ve lost a special part of our heritage today.”
