San Francisco Giants - World Series Victory 2010

The San Francisco Giants defeated the Texas Rangers on Monday with a final score of  3-1. The game 5 win is the first championship for the Giants since they defeated New York in 1954.

The game ended after Giants closer Brian Wilson threw a scoreless ninth inning vs. the Rangers, completing 8 brilliant innings completed by Tim Lincecum.

The eventually win came off the bat of series MVP Edgar Renteria who hit a seventh inning three-run homer to cap off the series win.

Congrats to the city of San Francisco, ratings may have been less for the World Seires than regular season NFL games, but for San Fran citizens it’s a win they’ll be celebrating until the new MLB season begins in 2011.
