Pete and Alisha Arnold are expecting a baby, but they aren’t sure if they want to have the child, or if they want to have an abortion. So they decided to let the internet decide. The Arnold’s are letting people vote on whether the couple should have an abortion, or if they should have the baby, on BirthorNot.com,
Gawker reports that Pete and Alisha are both 30, both tech professionals, they live in Minneapolis, and have been married for 10 years. They started blogging about the pregnancy in September, and have been posting health update on the fetus and the mother. The fetus is about 17-weeks old.
The couple says that they are going to keep the polls open until December 7th, since that will be two days before the last day Alisha can legally have an abortion.
The Birthornot website asks, “should We Give Birth or Have an Abortion?” According to Gawker, abortion is currently winning with 54% of the vote.
The Arnolds say that the vote will heavily influence their decision.
“It’s kind of like Congress. They might vote for something, but the president has the final veto. If it’s overwhelming one way or the other, that will carry a lot more weight.”
Pete and Alisha say that birthornot.com is absolutely real, and it’s the perfect exercise in democracy.
“Voting is such an important part of who we are as a people. Here’s a chance where people can be heard about whether they are pro-choice or whether they are pro-life, and it makes a difference in the real world.”
What do you think? Are you going to vote at birthornot.com? Or is this way to personal to let the internet get involved?
People like this, should have been an abortion theirselves. And if they decide not to have an abortion, how is that going to feel to the child should he or she finds out. They are not fit to be parents. They should be fixed.
Why would you let total strangers make this decision for you? In my opinion there is no decision. You are both at very established places in your lives and should know that this baby is a blessing. It is part of you! If, you are exceptionally selfish people who do not feel you can give of yourselves and raise a child then you should at least give the baby to someone else who wants so badly what you are literally thinking of throwing in the garbage. However, you need to think it out, based on your values and based on what a person would do that is seeking to be loving, giving and all the rest of the things this world needs more of. You have an opportunity to pass on all the positive things you have to give and teach another human being. Earnestly asking you to keep this baby alive, as your own, or giving to someone who will love them.
If they're actually serious and this is for real, both of them are too stupid to live, let alone be parents. Bloody idiots.
