I was shocked and disappointed with the favorite things show yesterday. Oprah, in this time of recession and cutbacks I think your money could be better spent taking care of the people who REALLY need your help. Line ups are longer than ever at food banks and every second children around the world are starving of malnutrition. For you to give away such an EXCESSIVE amounts of STUFF to people in the audience who really don’t appear to be in need, actually turned my stomach. I think your Favorite Things shows are a display of vulgar indulgence and greed and I’m glad that it is the last time you will be doing it.I had to turn the program off and while I’ve never been a huge fan, I lost all or any respect for you that day. You represent what is wrong with America and Americans…excessive, indulgence and lack of regard to those who are in need. I know you have a limitless supply of money, but others don’t and if you’re going to throw your money away, please throw it to those in need not those of greed.
