Boxing Legend Christy Martin Shot, Stabbed, Hospitalized

Christy Martin, a legendary female boxer was shot and stabbed yesterday. Martin told police that it was her husband who attacked her.

According to Fanhouse, Christy Martin was attacked by husband James Martin at their home in Orange County, Florida. Martin escaped the attack and was able to flag down a motorist. Martin was then rushed to the hospital.

Spokesman Jim Solomons said:

“The victim told deputies she was able to get out of the house after being stabbed and flag down the motorist who drove her to the hospital. She did not realize she had been shot during the altercation.”

Christy Martin earned a record of 49-5-3 with 31 KOs. Her former promoter, Don King, said:

“I am shocked and saddened to see this happen to Christy. I send my prayers and well wishes.”

Her husband and alleged attacker James Martin is still at large.
