“Black Swan” Leads Critics’ Choice Awards With Record-Breaking 12 Nominations

Black Swan” isn’t even out yet and the film is already breaking records. Darren Aronofsky’s film received 12 nominations, leading the competition at the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards.

“The King’s Speech” and “True Grit” each received 11 nominations, with “Inception” scoring 10 and “The Social Network” with nine nominations.

Swan received nods for best picture, best actress (Natalie Portman), best supporting actress (Mila Kunis) and best director (Aronofsky), just to name a few.

Pixar’s much-loved “Toy Story 3” earned best picture and best-animated movie nominations.

Hailee Steinfeld, 14, earned nominations for best supporting actress and best young actor/actress for her role in “True Grit.” Chloe Grace Moretz also received two nominations in the best young actor/actress category for her roles in “Let Me In” and “Kick-Ass.”

Missing from the list is Ben Affleck for Best Director for his hit movie “The Town.”

The Critics’ Choice Movie Awards will take place on Friday, January 14 at the Hollywood Palladium. The award show will air on VH1.
