Neil Patrick Harris Regrets Calling An Actor A “D-Bag” On Twitter
“How I Met Your Mother” star Neil Patrick Harris and soap opera star Eric Braeden exchanged a few words after the “Young and the Restless” actor backed out of his guest appeared on the hit CBS comedy series.
The 37-year-old actor ranted on Twitter where he said:
“Eric Braeden is a D-Bag. The actor, (Robin’s dad) agreed to a cameo, then last night bailed, saying the part wasn’t ‘substantial’ enough.”
Braeden, 69, commented back where he told Entertainment Weekly:
“His choice of words bothered me. It seems to me like a young whippersnapper, having seen himself on a few covers, who’s received a few awards, is now suddenly suffering from the first signs of hubris. I’ve been in the business for 50 years. I’ve seen people come and go and I’m still here.”
The soap opera legend said he “enjoyed” being on the series back in 2008, but he was just too “exhausted” from a recent hip surgery and he wasn’t just going to be on the series for two lines.
Just a few hours after tweeting the “D-bag” comment, Harris was apologetic and regretted what he said.
Harris tweeted:
“Now I feel bad for the D-bag comment. Don’t know the guy personally. I’m just fiercely protective of our show.”
