Fidel Castro Endorses Obamacare
President Obama has received a ringing endorsement of the new health care bill that he has succeeded in passing and signing into law. President Fidel Castro has lauded President Obama’s legislative coup as a miraculous victory. Associated Press reports as follows.
“Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro on Thursday declared passage of American health care reform “a miracle” and a major victory for Obama’s presidency, but couldn’t help chide the United States for taking so long to enact what communist Cuba achieved decades ago.”
President Obama can now add the endorsement of Fidel Castro to that of other luminaries such as Jimmy Carter and Reverend Jeremiah Wright. Obama’s health care bill passed by a slim margin through a heatedly divided Congress that reflected the misgivings of an equally divided electorate. It remains to be seen whether Fidel Castro’s contribution to the national dialogue on health care will win over the skeptics.
