Google wants to get into the coupon business. Google even offered to buy out the hugely popular Groupon for $6 billion, but Groupon turned them down. Now Google is getting ready to launch their own product, Google Offers, which will go head to head with sites like Groupon and Living Social.
Mashable got a hold of a fact sheet from the Google Complex, which read:
“Google Offers is a new product to help potential customers and clientele find great deals in their area through a daily email.”
According to Mashable, Google Offers will operate in the same fashion as Groupon. Users will receive a daily email about a deal at a local establishment. They’ll then have 24 hours to decide if they want to participate. If enough people agree to the deal, the Google Offer will be activated.
Google is currently communicating with small businesses to test Google Offers. You can read more about Google Offers at Mashable.
