It’s no secret that Media Matters doesn’t like Fox. But the liberal group has declared “war on Fox.” David Brock, the founder of Media Matters, said that he’s going to do everything he can to bring down Fox, it’s executives, it’s news anchors, and of course, News Corp. and Rupert Murdoch.

Brock said:

“The strategy that we had had toward Fox was basically a strategy of containment.”

But that strategy has changed. Brock and his associates are now going on the attack, and have declared a “war” against Fox.

According to Politico, Media Matters is now creating a list of all Fox employees, and they are trying to figure out who may be unhappy with the organization, and who may want to leak documents. Media Matters is also doing “opposition research,” as well as assembling a legal team to sue Fox for defamation.

Media Matters is also working on a book about Fox.

But Media Matters’ declaration of war might actually be a good thing for Fox.

Paul Levinson, a media studies professor at Fordham University says that Fox is probably happy about the situation. Levinson said:

“One way of keeping your core supporters happy is to be attacked by people your core supporters don’t like.”
