Fanboys were apparently less than thrilled with the first Green Lantern movie trailer that was released last November. Here is a follow-up trailer for the superhero opus (based on the D.C. Comics character) that seems to contain a lot more special effects juice. It was featured at this weekend’s WonderCon 2011 comic book convention in San Francisco.
Directed by Martin Campbell, the film debuts in theaters in both 2D and 3D on June 17 and stars Ryan Reynolds as U.S. Air Force test pilot Hal Jordan who becomes a member of the intergalactic Green Lantern Corps. The cast also includes Blake Lively and Peter Saarsgard
As quoted in the NY Daily News, a Warner Brothers executive said the following:
Part of the reason the response to the first trailer was lukewarm was that the big-scale sequences weren’t ready to show, and we suffered for it. We can’t afford to do that again.
Are you more impressed with this new trailer?
