Tiger Woods has remarkably made up seven shots on Rory McIlroy through the first nine holes of The Masters.

The fist-pumping Tiger is on full display as he has nailed four birdies and an eagle on the front nine while McIlroy has dropped two shots with a pair of bogeys. Both golfers are at 10-under for the tournament.

Charl Schwartzel, who is paired with McIlroy, has also picked up a couple of birdies to share the three-way tie for the lead.

Veterans Angel Cabrera and K.J. Choi along with Adam Scott are also in the hunt just a shot behind at 9-under.

Conventional wisdom says the Masters doesn’t really start until the back nine on Sunday. All of the contenders are saying their prayers as they head for Amen Corner, holes 11, 12 and 13, always a pivotal stretch at the Masters.

Woods has never won a major tournament when trailing after three rounds.
