3D Erotic Film, Sex and Zen, Beats Avatar Record [Video]

In Hong Kong, Avatar is no longer the record holder for largest opening day. That record now goes to Sex and Zen: Extreme Ecstasy an erotic 3D comedy.

Sex and Zen took in HK$2.78m ($360,000) compared to James Cameron’s Avatar which took in HK$2.63m ($340,00). The BBC reports that people from mainland China, where the film is not showing, are traveling to Hong Kong to see Sex and Zen.

The film, which is a remake of a 1991 movie, features Japanese porn stars Hara Saori and Suo Yukiko, as well as Hong Kong actress Vonnie Liu.

Sex and Zen is about a young scholar who believes that since life is short, one should pursue their desires.
