‘The Real Housewives of New Jersey’ Season 3 Premiere is Top Rated in Network History

The season 3 premiere of The Real Housewives of New Jersey debuted this week with 2.87 million viewers and 2.02 million adult viewers for the shows key demographic of 18 to 49-year-olds. When all was said and done the Housewives premiere is credited with giving Bravo the networks biggest viewership since the network launched, numbers that were up 23% from last seasons premiere.

The show debuted with several new characters added to the cast, specifically Melissa Gorga and Kathy Walkie. It was known before the series’ new debut that Melissa the estranged sister-in-law of housewife Teresa Giudice did not get along with Teresa.

Drama began immediately this season with Teresa attempting to congratulate her brother on his son’s special day when “New Joe” called her “garbage.” Teresa’s husband (old Joe) then stepped in and started throwing fists to defend his wife, fighting right in front of their children.
