George Bush Nearly Hit By Foul Ball [Video]
George Bush is fantastic at being narrowly missed by flying objects. Yesterday at the Chicago White Sox / Texas Rangers game, a foul ball nearly landed in the former president’s lap as catcher A.J. Pierzynski nearly made an impressive catch.
Here’s the video of the incident.
Bush, a native of Texas, goes to several Rangers game a year with his wife Laura. The first couple was sitting next to baseball legend Nolan Ryan and his wife Ruth.
Pierzynsky said after the game:
“I told him just ’cause he was the president doesn’t mean I wouldn’t jump on top of him. He and his wife got a good chuckle out of it. It was a light moment in an otherwise quick game.
“Obviously, I knew (the former president) was there. When I saw the ball go up, I actually thought I had a chance to catch it. I was going to reach around. I needed about another foot and then I realized I almost jumped in the president’s lap. It was funny. I had Nolan Ryan and George W. Bush sitting within 5 feet of each other.”
