Rory McIlRoy Kicks Butt At U.S. Open, Sets Tournament Record

He’s got game. Rory McIlroy humiliated his fellow PGA competitors over the weekend, scoring a new US Open record of 16-under 268 after shooting a two-under 69 during the last day of play at Congressional.
The young golfer surpassed the old US Open record by four shots, a record set by four golfers including Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus.
After his match McIlroy said:
“I was trying to go out there today and emulate him in some way,” while adding, “I played great for four days and I couldn’t be happier.”
Rory’s father Gerry McIlroy was attending the tournament and the golfer quickly walked off the green, embraced his dad and says “Happy Father’s Day” a move reminiscent to so many Tiger wins when his father Earl was alive.
