The first pitch at a baseball game is basically a non-event. Some celebrity, athlete, or politician will wave to the crowd and then throw a ball into the dirt. If any of those pitches are worth seeing, it’s usually because the pitch is so incredibly terrible. It’s pretty rare for an opening pitch to get attention for being awesome.

But Gabryel Nogueira da Silva, a Cirque du Soleil acrobat, threw what was probably the greatest opening pitch in MLB history last night.

Not only does Gabryel Nogueira da Silva do a crazy twisting back flip before his pitch. He also throws the ball right down the middle of the plate.
