Something Awesome This Way Comes: Facebook To Launch New Product Next Week

Google may have spooked Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook a bit with the new Google + social network. But Zuck says that he has something up his sleeve. Zuckerberg said that he will “launch something awesome” next week.

No word, however, on what that awesome thing is.

Zuckerberg told reporters that Facebook’s Seattle office played a big part in developing this “awesome” new product. Reuters speculates that since the Seattle office was integral to developing Facebook’s mobile platform, the “awesome” new product could be tablet related.

Last week, Tech Crunch said that Facebook was working on a new photo-sharing service, and earlier this month the New York Times said that Facebook was working an iPad app.

Of course, Zuckerberg could just be trying to take away some hype from Google +.
