Foursquare today released their new plugin for Mozilla’s Firefox which acts as an extension to the popular mobile application. The plugin can be found through the plug-in has been named Foursquarefox and can be downloaded from the special site setup by Foursquare (Foursquarefox.com).

The plug-in allows users to add new venues, check-in to their Foursquare account while pinging both Facebook and Twitter at the same time, check out venue details, find friends on a map and use all of the other Foursquare options users have come to love.

According to Mashable:

What’s especially great about Foursquarefox is that the entire experience feels like an extension of the application, so processes like checking in and adding shouts are familiar and look fantastic.

Foursquarefox nicely complements the mobile application experience. The ability to check-in from a browser using Firefox location services and the quick access to maps to locate places and friends make it especially easy to see who and what is just around the corner. Perhaps it’s time to start planning your next check-in adventure around town.

Personally I’m not a big fan of my friends knowing where I am at all times, maybe when out on the town with mobile in tow it’s one thing, but when I’m sitting at a cafe with my laptop the urge to check-in may be a bit much for my own sanity.

What do you think about the application? Give it a download and then leave us your thoughts.
