One month ago Google’s Chrome OS began appearing on the newly dubbed “Chromebooks” and so far the $349 Chromebook from Acer has held up against competitors, taking the 5th place sales spot among notebook sellers.

According to PCWorld Chromebooks:

[Have] found the number four spot occupied by Acer’s 11.6-inch, $349 Chromebook. (Only Apple’s MacBook Pro and a pair of Toshiba laptops ranked higher.Samsung’s Series 5, a 12.1-inch Chromebook with built-in 3G service for $499, is ranked tenth.

While the chart only shows current top sellers and their are literally hundreds of new models released monthly by various company’s it does show that Chromebooks are not a flop and given Google’s ability to increase their programs capabilities over the long haul (Google Android) increasing sales could lead to promising future releases as the company continues to place more emphasis on the product as sales numbers increase.
