Reggie Bush Heading to Miami
New Orleans running back Reggie Bush will soon be leaving the big easy. Bush is currently renegotiating his contract in order to be traded to the Miami Dolphins.
The New Orleans Saints drafted Mark Ingram in April, which seemed to signal the end of Bush’s reign in New Orleans.
Bush tweeted after the draft:
“It’s been fun New Orleans.”
The trade hasn’t been announced by either team, and it isn’t sure what the Saints will get in return for Bush, but multiple media sources are reporting that it’s a done deal.
Bush is scheduled to receive $11.8 million during his final year of his rookie contract, which he earned after a phenomenal Heisman winning season at USC. Bush would be stripped of his Heisman, as well as USC, and his numbers never really lived up to the hype surrounding him when he entered the league.
Bush averaged 4 yards per carry with 33 TDs in five seasons while racking up a rather disappointing 2,090 career rushing yards. His numbers have been hurt by the fact that he has missed 28 games throughout his 5 year NFL career.
Bush could find new life in Miami, though, where he will be the go-to running back for the Dolphins.
