Plaxico Burress Heading to the Jets
Plaxico Burress is moving from the big house to the big apple. Burress, who recently finished a 20-month prison sentence for gun charges, has just signed a $3 million dollar contract with the New York Jets.
ESPN reports that Burress met with the San Francisco 49ers and the Pittsburgh Steelers before signing with the Jets. The Jets also resigned Santonio Holmes to a 5-year, $50 million contract, which will give the Jets a formidable receiving duo.
Burress hasn’t played in the NFL since 2009 when he was arrested after shooting himself in the leg at a nightclub. The illegal firearm would land the Superbowl winner in prison for nearly two years.
Before Burress went to prison, he help the New York Giants win the 2008 Superbowl with a game winning touchdown catch. Burress has 505 catches, close to 8000 yards, and 55 touchdowns in his career so far.
