Rumors of a new i-Pad have begun to circulate around the tech world this week. However, as much speculation as there is, there may be even more uncertainty.
With the enormous Consumer Electronics Show scheduled for January 10-13th and the MacWorld/iworld trade show scheduled for Jan 26-28th everyone is poised to see what Apple will be coming out with. Some are hopeful for January release date of the iPad 3 however many critics call that wishful thinking.
“We’ve entered a post-iPhone news cycle, when iPad rumors are surfacing with full force,” wrote Leslie Horn for PC Magazine. “Of course the launch date has been discussed quite a bit, as it goes with any anticipated Apple device. But the reality with an Apple gadget is that we’ll have to wait and see.”
February 24th will be bringing Steve Jobs Birthday, with some expecting a release on that date to honor the late founder of Apple. However in 2011 the iPad 2 was released in March, which seems like a more likely date for a potential release.
The rumors circulating don’t come out of thin air though. Apple recently purchased a plant in Texas which produces computer chips. It is thought that Apple is developing a faster processor for the i-pad. This will allow quicker browsing and better gaming quality.
Speculation about what else will be included in the new i-pad includes the possibility of voice control Siri technology, as well as a sharper higher resolution screen. Rumors of a small seven inch iPad, to compete with the launch of the kindle fire, the i-Pad 2‘s main competitor, have surfaced as well.
