More Info:

Israel has heightened their security as Iranian bombings targeting Israeli defense officials have become all-too-common. Iran is accused of organizing two bombings in New Delhi India and Tbilisi Georgia, targeting Israeli embassies. These actions come after Iranian nuclear officials have been targeted by suspected Israelis.

In Thailand this past Tuesday, an Iranian man is in a hospital after he blew his own legs up with a grenade in a crowded square, injuring several others.

Israel commented on the situation saying it was part of Iran’s mission to spread violence around the globe. The bomber in question, Saeid Moradi, was injured after a cache of explosives detonated at his house and he took to the streets. While trying to hail a cab that wouldn’t stop he threw a grenade at the vehicle. When police began to approach he hurled another grenade, blowing his own legs off in the process.

Thai police found more weapons stashed in the home of Moradi. On Tuesday night, an Iranian man was also detained at the airport in Thailand trying to catch a flight to Malaysia, but police have yet to make clear his connection to the bombings. Several Thai citizens were hurt in this random attack as well.

Visiting Israeli defense minister Ehud Barak in Singapore said “[This] proves once again that Iran and its proxies continue to perpetrate terror.”

However, there is no evidence to link these men to the Iranian government. An investigation is currently underway to determine any link at all to Iran. Israel is increasingly concerned about Iran’s nuclear program and its aggression towards them in the region. They have not ruled out the possibility of war with Iran, and if so they would likely have the support of the United States behind them.

The past two attacks on Israeli officials seemed to have been carried out by highly trained-individuals. In New Delhi, Yehoshua-Koren, the wife of an Israeli defense official, was driving her car to pick up her children when a passing motorcyclist slapped a magnetic bomb to the side of her car. This sort of attack screams “government trained operatives!” She is in the hospital with paralysis of her legs, currently getting treated for a piece of shrapnel near her spine.

India’s Home Minister Palaniappan Chidambaram said on the attack, “At the moment, I am not pointing a finger at any particular group or any particular organization. But whoever did it, we condemn it in the strongest terms.”

The back-and-forth between Iran an Israel is sure to soon get nasty, not that it isn’t already. As the United States knows, and Israel should be aware as well, Iran has no intention of shutting down or slowing their nuclear program. This fight between the two countries will go on and on involving bombings and attacks till it turns into an all out war. At that point the United States will have become involved and the situation will be a whole lot worse. Let’s just hope that Iran doesn’t complete a nuclear weapon before then.
