Hope Solo married Jerramy Stevens on Tuesday night, according to reports — the same day the former Seattle Seahawks tight end appeared in court after he was arrested on suspicion of assaulting the US women’s soccer star.
Solo, who grew up in Richland, Washington, and Sanders were married in a small ceremony in Snohomish, Washington, according to Fox Sports.
Dave Mahler, a sports radio talk show host in Seattle, stated on Twitter, “Confirmed: Jerramy Stevens and Hope Solo were married tonight. Events of yesterday morning didn’t change plans. Sounds like more facts comin.”
Solo is usually very active on Twitter, but had not posted anything for over a week before she finally tweeted a photo of herself and Sanders together, saying, “Off to Tampa and the good life! What kind of fish shall i go after this time?”
Solo and Stevens have been dating for two months and applied for a marriage license last Thursday, according to records from King County. Stevens was released from court by a Kirkland Municipal Court judge who stated that there is no evidence connecting the former Seahawks player to any assault
He was arrested on Monday for fourth-degree domestic violence assault, but he has not been charged as a result, reports The Huffington Post. While the judge stated there was a lack of evidence in the case, Kirkland Police Lieutenant Mike Murray stated on Tuesday that the case is still under investigation and charges may be brought later if prosecutors and police find additional evidence.
Hope Solo is the goal keeper for the US Olympics soccer team, who won gold in London this year. She appeared in the courtroom for Stevens’ hearing, but left without speaking to reporters.
Police in Kirkland responded to a disturbance at a home in the early hours of Monday morning involving a physical altercation between eight people at a party. Officers spoke with several people in the home, but they were not cooperative. Based on information and observations, they arrested Stevens. While Murray has not identified the alleged victim, court records say that Solo received a cut to her elbow during the fight.
In explaining why officers arrested Stevens, despite no admittance that he was involved in the fight, Murray stated:
“If officers find that an assault may have taken place, then we have to make an arrest on who were determine is the primary aggressor.”
Neither Hope Solo nor Jerramy Stevens have confirmed the rumors they are married.
