Brian Krupa – PGA Tour in Full Swing

One time golf course outside services manager Brian Krupa looks forward to golf all year long. This year’s PGA tour just completed its fourth stage at Torrey Pines in San Diego, California. The tour offers some exciting updates for golfers and fans.

Golf enthusiasts across America rejoiced. The PGA tour took front and center stage. Football playoff games were on hold this weekend with the European Tour to follow later, so the PGA’s biggest stars were swinging for the fences. One time golf manager and golf enthusiast, Brian Krupa, looks forward to this tour every year and is excited for its outcome.

The fourth leg of the tour took place on January 24th through the 27th at the illustrious Torrey Pines in San Diego. Top PGA tour contender and media magnet, Tiger Woods, returned to the site of his 2008 U.S. Open victory last weekend and took the trophy yet again. Woods’s last major win was in 2008 but his stretch of wins at Torrey Pines from 2005-2008 make this a sweet spot for Woods.

This weekend Tiger Woods lived up to his past and repeated another excellent performance at the Torrey Pines course, delivering a vintage 14-under par performance even in the middle of the thick fog that covered the course. Brandt Snedeker and Josh Teater tied for second four strokes behind him. Tiger Woods’s fans are excited to see him sneaking up on Sam Snead’s record 82 PGA tour wins; Woods is now just seven victories away.

The world is watching carefully as another saga unfolds. Woods verses Mcllroy. Rory Mcllroy currently ranks as number one with Woods trailing at number two. Golf fans like Brian Krupa rejoiced this weekend to see Woods closing the gap between himself and Mcllroy.

Mcllroy has recently seen the spotlight for his club change up at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship. Mcllroy recently accepted sponsorship by Nike and has been having a bit of a hard time playing with their clubs. He switched his Nike for his old Scotty Cameron putter and drew some negative feedback from fans and sponsors. Though it’s been noted Woods had done the same thing a few times after he signed with Nike.

Out of the top 14 players in the world, five were in attendance at PGA this weekend. A total of 17 of the top 50 players will were included overall. Phil Mickelson, now ranked at 22nd in the world, also made an appearance.

The next rounds of the PGA tour will be held January 31st through February 3rd at the TPC Scottsdale course in Arizona, followed by the famous Pebble Beach Golf Links course in California from February 7th through February 10th.
