Meredith Viera Drops S Bomb on Today Show (language advisory)
Meredith Viera dropped the S bomb on the Today Show, much to the amusement of viewers across the country ( see video) This is part of a growing trend of vulgarity slipping onto the air. Rosanna Scotto shocked viewers when she compared soy milk to a bodily fluid in a bizarre on air exchange over what to call soy milk.
Here’s the video:
The world of television is tightly scripted. For years, on air bloopers have intrigued viewers. Some involve profanity. In others, things happen that just weren’t scripted.
Not all the bloopers are dirty. Here is one of a woman being interviewed about her book and throwing up on the show:
There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes on a news broadcast that laymen never thing about. The worst enemy of a news anchor is “dead air” when a live link falls through. I found one such sequence in which an Iranian female sports newscaster’s broadcast went totally haywire that I posted on Magdeburgerjoe.com almost a year ago (link here). I felt sorry for the woman, but it was still an interesting video.
You could waste a whole afternoon watching news bloopers on You Tube. Not all of them are dirty. Some are just plain funny. But it’s nice to see that news anchors and media personalities are, after all just humans like the rest of us.
The picture at the top of this article was supposed to be of a murder suspect, Rodney Stanger.
