YouTube has a new video sensation on the popular video streaming site, according to the New Zealand Herald. The video is of a workshop performance by 12 dancers at the Royal New Zealand Ballet. Posted 13 days ago, the video features the ballet group dancing to Lady Gaga’s ‘Bad Romance,’ is now a huge hit on YouTube with more than 50,000 hits.
Jaered Glavin choreographed the number as a project for the company’s workshop.
In an introduction to the dance number, Glavin said there’s no need to explain the inspiration behind the routine. “Although it’s a workshop showing I couldn’t resist but to put a few costume touches onto it because in my eyes it’s illegal to have Lady Gaga in the title and not have costumes,” he said in the video.
