A Staten Island Ferry  was coming into port when it hit a dock according to WNBC the incident caused injury to 60 people aboard the boat.

At this time only minor injuries are being reported. Fire and Police department officials are still assessing the damage and at this time are not prepared to say what severity of damage was caused by the collission.

According to eye witnesses the ferry appeared to have sped up at it reached the dock and then ran right into the dock area, no reason for that speed increase has been given.
