After Flappy Bird was removed from the app store today, to the devastation of many users, due to the creator’s frustration with the pressures of success, a story ran around social media sites, claiming that the creator of the app had committed suicide.

However, the rumor isn’t true. It can be traced to a beginning at Huzlers.com, in an article that claims that not only has creator Dong Nguyen committed suicide, but so have at least seven others due to the loss of the game.
The article further claims that authorities are investigation possible death threats that might have prompted the removal of the game.
However, in an ‘About Us’ at the bottom of the page is this disclaimer:
Huzlers.com is a combination of real shocking news and satire news to keep its visitors in a state of disbelief.
So no, there’s no reason to believe that Nguyen has committed suicide. He just, as he has said himself, decided to pull back a little from the public life of a successful game designer.
