77kids Online Brand of American Eagle Will Open Stores
AmericanEagle opens 77kids stores
77kids – the American Eagle Outfitters children’s fashion brand that was sold online only will open seven bricks and mortar stores in July.
The announcement was made today at the American Eagle stockholders meeting by CEO Jim O’Donnell. He also said the company would close its Martin + Osa chain of 28 fashion stores this summer.
In 2010, American Eagle will move slowly to open 24 new casual wear stores with the American Eagle and Aerie (the chain’s junior lingerie/lounge wear concept) stores.
O’Donnell also said American Eagle will open three stores in early 2011 in Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai, through a franchise agreement. More stores in Hong Kong and China will follow.
In March, American Eagle opened its first Middle East locations, in Dubai and Kuwait.
