Former QB Randall Cunningham's Son Dies In Hot Tub Accident
Las Vegas police are investigating a tragic incident in which the two-year-old son of former NFL quarterback Randall Cunningham may have accidentally drowned in a backyard hot tub.
Christian Cunningham was the youngest of the former Philadelphia Eagles QB’s four children. According to AP, “police were called late Tuesday afternoon to Cunningham’s home in southeast Las Vegas after an adult at the house with several other children found the boy in the hot tub and began trying to resuscitate him.”
Sadly, the toddler was pronounced dead about an hour later at a local hospital.
Cunningham, now an ordained minister at a Las Vegas church, was apparently out of town when the incident occurred.
After playing college football at UNLV, Cunningham starred for the Eagles for 11 years. He later had brief stints with the Minnesota Vikings, Dallas Cowboys, and Baltimore Ravens. He is a four-time All Pro and retired in 2002 as the career leader in rushing yards among NFL quarterbacks.
