Top 10 Best Small Cities In The U.S.

Eden Prairie, MN, high school exterior

There’s no place like home, especially if you are lucky enough to live in Eden Prairie, Minnesota apparently. Money Magazine awards the Minneapolis suburb its 2010 number one ranking as the best place–in the context of small cities–to live in America, based on its positive employment picture and family friendly amenities. It also happens to be the home of  the NFL Vikings’ training facility and front office. There is one downside, though: The local weather has got to brutal in the winter, no?

In any case, here is a video extolling the virtues of Eden Prairie as a “complete” city:

For similar reasons (i.e, jobs, good schools, personal safety, and abundant recreational opportunities), the rest of the top ten list is as follows:

  • Colombia/Ellicott City, MD
  • Newton, MA
  • Bellevue, WA
  • McKinney, TX
  • Fort Collins, CO
  • Overland Park, KS
  • Fishers, IN
  • Ames, IA
  • Rogers, AR

If, like millions of Americans, you are currently out of work and you’re not permanently rooted in one particular location, you might want to seek out more information about these municipalities.
