60-year-old drag racer dies at Washington track (VIDEO)

Niver crashed into net at end of track when parachute comes off the back of his dragster, according to CNN.

The 60-year-old is the second person to die this year in National Hot Rod Association series.

He was taking part in the National Hot Rod Association’s Lucas Oil Northwest Nationals in Seattle, Washington, on Sunday.

Niver hand-built his cars, and the announcers called him, “a true craftsman and an innovator.” Niver raced for more than 20 years. He won his first race two years ago.
