Fantasia Barrino Hospitalized After Overdose
Fantasia Barrino remains in the hospital after overdosing on Aspirin and sleep aid last night. The former”American Idol” champ is currently in stable condition at a hospital in North Carolina, and is expected to be released soon.
The Associated Press reports that Fantasia was just named in a lawsuit by Paula Cook, who accused Fantasia of having an affair with her husband, Antwuan Cook. Her manager Brian Dickens said that Fantasia was “overwhelmed by the lawsuit and the media attention.”
“Last night, Fantasia was hospitalized. She took an overdose of aspirin and a sleep aid. Her injuries are not life threatening. She was dehydrated and exhausted at the time,” Dickens said in a statement. (TMZ has the full statement.)
Fantasia Barrino won the “American Idol” contest in 2004, and is set to release her third album on August 24th.
