If you want to carry your desktop on your back you can just about do so with the Acer Aspire 8940, a huge notebook with an 18.4 inch display, Windows 7 and Core i7 720QM processor among a host of other high end features.
The Aspire 8940 also features 4GB 1066-DDR3 memory, a 500GB hard drive and includes a 1GB Nvidia GeForce GTS 250m graphics card, all starting at $1350. While a Blu-Ray drive, Acer touch-capacitive media control interface and 5 built-in speakers with surround sound are also included.
