Oscar Co-Hosts: Steve Martin And Alec Baldwin To Share Hosting Duties

Steve Martin and Hugh Jackman To Host Oscars

The comedy legends are taking over from last year’s presenter Hugh Jackman to team up for the 82nd Academy Awards. The stars have already started making jokes at each others’ expense.

Steve, 64, said: “I am happy to co-host the Oscars with my enemy, Alec Baldwin.”

Alec fired back by mocking Steve’s interest in folk music, saying: “I don’t play the banjo, but I’m thrilled to be hosting the Oscars – it’s the
opportunity of a lifetime.”

This will be the third time Steve has hosted the prestigious event, while 51-year-old Alec will presenting for the first time.

The show’s producers Adam Shankman and Bill Mechanic said yesterday: “We think the team of Steve and Alec are the perfect pair of hosts for the
Oscars.

“Steve will bring the experience of having hosted the show in the past and Alec will be a completely fresh personality for this event.”

Steve previously presented the 73rd and 75th Academy Awards.

The 82nd Academy Awards will take place at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood on March 7 2010.
