The TV talent show judge splashed out £50,000 on the special suite, which is crammed full of gold discs and expensive champagne. The room is so large it dwarfs some of the other TV studios in the building.
“Simon has spent £50,000 doing up his room and it’s like a palace,” said his co-judge Louis Walsh. “He has everything in there – plasma screen TVs, a
massage room and a fridge full of the most expensive champagne money can buy.”
The 50-year-old music mogul also has a luxury bathroom stocked with beauty products, including eye wrinkle cream, shaving paste and razors. He also has a copy of the latest Guinness World Records book as he loves swatting up on little known facts before appearing on the show.
Louis also has a lavish dressing room, although it is smaller than Simon’s.
He has a fridge full of wine and a rack of suits, as well as a special box filled with Armani ties.
Taking pride of place is a set of palm tree leaves given to Louis by singer Sinitta, Simon’s ex-girlfriend. Sinitta helped Simon whittle down the contestants in his group to the three finalists, and famously paraded around in nothing but the leaves as she made the decision.
A source said told Britain’s Star magazine: “Sinitta brought them to the first live show for a laugh and Louis asked if he could have them. He has them arranged across the coffee table and says they bring him luck.”
