Rihanna Admits In Interview That Going Back To Chris Brown Sent The Wrong Message

Rihanna sat down with Diane Sawyer on ABC’s Good Morning America on Thursday and discussed how she felt after realizing that taking Chris Brown back was the “wrong” decision.

“That’s embarrassing that that’s the type of person that I fell in love with,” She told Diane Sawyer “So far in love. So unconditional that I went back. It’s humiliating to say this happened. To accept that? It’s a traumatizing experience.”

She also went into detail about her confrontation with her ex-boyfriend, saying that he twice held her in a headlock and bit her ear and fingers, basically he fights like a girl.

She further stood firm to her position about regretting her initial decision to once again start dating the singer:

“I stayed. I even went back after he beat me, which was wrong…It’s completely normal to go back. You start lying to yourself…I’ll say that to any young girl who is going through domestic violence: ‘Don’t react off of love.’”

She finally admitted that it took nearly a dozen attempts before she finally left the singer and moved on with her life.

“It’s pretty easy to go back….When I realized that my selfish decision for love could result in some young girl getting killed, I could not be easy with that part,” she says. “I couldn’t be responsible for that. Even if Chris never hit me again, who’s to say their boyfriend won’t? Who’s to say they won’t kill these girls? I didn’t realize how much of an impact I had on these girls’ lives until that happened.”

Good Morning America is set to air more parts from that interview on Friday with the full interview showcased on 20/20 Friday evening.
