Phil Mickelson Wins HSBC Champions Tournament After Els Falters

Phil Mickelson - Shanghai HSBC Champions Tournament

Phil Mickelson showed a packed crowd at the HSBC Champions tournament in Shanghai  on Sunday why he’s one of the best players in the world. The lefty sunk an 18 foot put on the 16th hole, then topped off his win with a 10 footer on the 17th hole of the tournament, a performance worthy of the win.

The 16th hole putt gave Mickelson the par while the second shot on the 17th provided a birdie, allowing Phil to finish the day at 3 under 69. Mickelson was also helped by Ernie Els who once again collapsed on the 18th hole, giving up his lead with a tournament damaging bogey on the last hole of play.

Tiger Woods also pulled to within 2 shots of the lead on Sunday, but after giving up four shots on the front nine he was lost in the shuffle and couldn’t pull off yet another win.
