The critically lauded Green Day album “American Idiot” has been playing in “musical form” to packed crowds at the Berkeley Repertory Theater in Berkeley, CA and now it looks like the show is Broadway bound.
The bands rock opera has extended it’s world-premier through November 15th in Berkeley and is now being adapted to fit into the Broadway scene, with that adaption currently in pre-production.
Spokesperson Michael Hartman told Playbill.com on November 9th that:
“There is a Broadway future for the show, but at this time no dates or theatre are confirmed.”
As a huge fan of the American Idiot album this is one show I’d love to catch in the Big Apple.
