Wistron and Intel are ruining all of the “reveal” fun for Lenovo. This time is was Wistron who submitted a “notebook Computer with Wacom Digitizer” to the FCC with a model name of W701, which immediately makes us think of the Lenovo ThinkPad W701.
According to recent reports the W701 will feature a 2GHz Intel CPU, offer a 320GB Fujitsu Hard Drive and come with a 17 inch WUXGA monitor that outputs 1920 x 1200 pixels of resolution.
As Engadget pointed out the only processor running at a 2GHz speed at this time is the quad-core Core i7-920XM chipset with 8MB of L3 cache which offers a 3.2GHz single-core max speed, 55W TDP option.
If the 920XM is in fact the chipset being touted, you can expect a ridiculously high price for the system, but it will be worth every single penny.
