The Archos 9 PC Tablet should have been sitting in my hands right now, instead the much awaited PC Tablet has been delayed for at least a few more weeks.
The tablet, which was priced at a pre-order cost of £449.99 ($748) began accepting orders directly from Archos at the end of October, however UMPC Portal spoke with Archos reps and discovered that the units were delayed. Adding to the bad news, they announced that retail shelves and online sellers won’t see the Windows 7 devices until Q1 2010.
As Slashgear points outs:
It doesn’t bode well for the Archos 9’s sales success. Intel are expected to push out their next-gen of Atom processors early in the new year, at which point the Archos slate’s 1.1GHz Atom Z515 CPU is going to look even more sluggish than it does already.
For the price their currently touting, with the technology they offer, I think I may just end up waiting for a nice Z515 unit to reach market.
