T-Mobile Trending 2010. What Plans Does T-Mobile Have For The New Year?

T-Mobile 2010 Innovations Expected

2009 was a very exciting time for T-Mobile,  during the past year they’ve doubled their 3G footprint to more than 200M people nationwide, they’ve launched their HSPA 7.2Mbps network and they were the first carrier to launch HSPA+ in the U.S. with a Philadelphia launch in September. They also saw success with the T-Mobile G1 and various other devices, while once again proving their customer service in various polls was second to none. While 2009 was an impressive time at T-Mobile USA, what they’re gearing up for in 2010 is far more impressive.

Rather than focusing on 4G technologies which are still years away from full launch, T-Mobile will rely on their HSPA+ network to increase data speeds by anywhere from three to five times current speeds, creating the fastest mobile data network available in the US. They’ll also ensure that the speed increases are backward compatible, ensuring myTouch 3G and other 3G devices supporting HSPA+ can take advantage of those speeds.

T-Mobile will also continue to build out their highly successful Android handset market (T-Mobile G1, myTouch 3G, Motorola CLIQ and Behold II). According to a recently released statement, the company expects 40% more of their phones to be smartphone based before the end of the coming year, including various Google Android based phones, the first of which will be the myTouch 3G Fender LE.

T-Mobile will also focus much of their efforts on creating a more friendly wireless environment. In 2009 T-Mobile introduced M2M (machine-to-machine) connections with embedded SIM cards, in 2010 they’ve promised to increase that technology allowing more devices to connect with various industries including automotive, energy, healthcare and various other sectors.

The 2010 mobile industry promises to be full of improvements, headaches and above all innovation, it’s been that way since Zach Morris carried around his laptop size phone on Saved by the Bell and I wouldn’t expect anything less.
