According to various reports, no surprisingly many of which were tweeted, the officer jumped out of his vehicle after it was hit by various snowballs, at which point he brandished his holstered gun in order to scare off the crowd. Thankfully no one was hurt during the incident.
Thanks to various internet savvy on the scene there was plenty of pictures taken and even a video of the incident.
Here’s a video of the incident:
The snowballers demanded the officers badge number in the video…here’s an idea, don’t throw snowballs at passing vehicles. Were his actions overboard? Sure. However, the stupidity of the crowd throwing snowballs at passing vehicles was also stupid, those kids should learn to have a little respect.
According to the Washington Post DC police are currently investigating the incident. [image by CityPaper]
